| Return to the SanctuaryWe will return to the Sanctuary on Sunday, Nov 21. our worship service will celebrate therestoration of our beloved and venerable church structure. Because this is the Sunday before Thanksgiving, we will honor the season with the cider and cornbread ceremony we enjoyed last November.

| Pancake Breakfast & RE Registration Sunday, Sept 12 marks the transition to the "regular" church year. Breakfast will be served from 10-12 and will be served through the entire time - no need to arrive early. Parents will also register students this Sunday.

| Launch of the New Church YearOn Sunday, Sept 19, we will meet in the gym of Charleston Day School, right across the street from the church. This will continue during the remainder of the church restoration. We will recognize the close of the summer with a water ceremony - a simple sharing of water gathered from summer travel as a symbol of our annual reunion as a faith community. In addition, the Vestry will designate our plate collection this one Sunday for Crisis Ministries.

The Gateway is the monthly newsletter of the Unitarian Church in Charleston. It is available here as a download in Adobe PDF format (click here to download the Adobe Reader FREE). The newsletter is also mailed out to the congregation, as well as distributed as an e-newsletter to registered authorized users of this website. As part of the effort to become a Green Sanctuary, the Gateway is being phased into electronic distribution for those who wish to receive it, although the paper version is available at this time, it will at some point be sent only to those who request it.
