Interested in Joining?
Membership in the Unitarian Church in Charleston is open to all who choose to walk with us in the spirit of love and in the search for truth. We have no creedal requirements for membership. To become a member one completes the Pathfinders and Pathways Classes and signs the Membership Book in the presence of the minister and an officer of the church. New Members are welcomed into the congregation with a ceremony during church services three times per year.
With Membership comes privileges and responsibilities. Members participate regularly in worship and other church activities. They address their own spiritual growth, serve the church, and serve the wider community. Members may become committee chairs and are eligible to serve on the Vestry, Committee on Shared Ministry, and Nominating Committee. In order to exercise the privilege of voting at the annual meeting held each May, Members must make a financial contribution of record. Your annual financial pledge to contribute enables the Vestry to establish a budget for the coming year. As Members, you will be connected to the Unitarian Universalist Association and receive its publication “UU World”.
If you wish to explore membership, please speak to Rev. Reed or Membership Coordinator, Carol Oates.
