Vision Statement:  The mission of the RE Committee is to provide a safe and nurturing environment in which children and youth may grow spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually, within the context and deliberate practice of the Seven Principles of Unitarian Universalism.

Activities: Together with the Director of Religious Education (DRE), the Religious Education Committee (REC) helps plan special social events for children, families, and the wider church community such as the annual Halloween party, and sets the RE budget. RE plans and implements a major social action project each spring that the children can be directly involved in.

Ways To Serve:  A core group is needed to make decisions about social outings and projects that will be taken on by RE, and maintain regular communication with the DRE. Of course, many, many other adults are needed to support the program.  Sunday School teachers teach in pairs, on three month rotations in classes for pre-school through middle school. Adults are also needed to plan and implement social events

Helpful Skills:  Interest and willingness to work with groups of children or youth; special knowledge of religious or cultural topics that can be shared with children or youth; ability to plan and organize social events; willingness to work with Staff and other volunteers; creative vision for a religious education program in a growing congregation.
