“When the Spirit Says, Do”

Just Join In!

The Unitarian Church in Charleston supports an active and enthusiastic music program.  Enhancing the services through music is a wonderfully satisfying way to participate and deepen your connection to our community. Instrumental music, anthems and hymn choices represent a wide range of musical styles and texts reflecting the diverse nature of our congregation and Unitarian Universalist principles.

Our music program is led by Music Director, Susan Conant, with the assistance of Amy Ball, pianist and organist.  You may reach Susan at this address: musicdirector@charlestonuu.org

We have a number of ensembles and opportunities for music lovers to get involved.

Special Music

All kinds of music played on all kinds of instruments. We welcome new projects and collaborations.

Here is a recording done by past Music Director, Lin Raymond, and current MD, Susan Conant, playing Conant’s original composition: Ocean Fantasia.

Music for All Ages

The music program and RE have an ongoing mission to pursue opportunities for all ages to make music together.  As part of our Sunday services, the students in RE are featured in a Whole Church song that they have learned the week before. These are easy, fun, interactive, topical songs that everyone can sing.
