The Charleston Interreligious Council is pleased to announce the second James Sawers, Jr. Interfaith Speaker Series will be held October 11-13, 2018, in Charleston, SC.

Our speaker will be Dr. Rabbi Reuven Firestone, professor of Medieval Judaism and Islam at the Hebrew Union College and affiliate professor of religion at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He has written over 100 scholarly articles and eight books and regularly lectures at universities and religious centers throughout the U.S., Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Rabbi Firestone will give a number of lectures and presentations during the three-day event, and will address such timely topics as “Who are the (Real) Chosen People” and “How To Diss a (False) Prophet: Protecting Religion by Rejecting God’s Messengers,” among others.

Please plan to join us. All workshops and lectures are open and free to the public. More information will follow in the coming weeks.
