Vision Statement: The Denominational Affairs Committee is charged with keeping the congregation abreast of issues and activities of our Unitarian Universalist Association with and encouraging individual and group study and participation about our Association. The committee also helps link the church to the work of the Southeast District/Southern Cluster and shares information from the district with the community. We encourage participation in denominational activities, serve as a clearing house of denomination-related information and disseminate information concerning Study-Action Issues that are proposed by congregations in formulating Statements of Conscience at each UUA General Assembly. The Romanian Partner Church program in Transylvania is also under the jurisdiction of this committee.

Logistics:  Members and friends are encouraged to join! Members will work closely with the minister, and other professional staff to learn more about key issues that they are seeing in our UU Association.

Activities:  Updating the church’s web page about the UUA and Southeast District, putting articles in The Gateway, holding occasional forums to showcase key issues, encouraging participation by church members in General Assembly and Southeast District/Southern Cluster meetings, working with other churches about their involvement and activities.

Helpful Skills:  An interest in Unitarian Universalism beyond our Church, a desire to get out and see what other UU churches are doing and ideas they are willing to share with our Church, and the willingness to share information with others.
