The Eden Keepers

Who loves a garden still his Eden keeps.”

— Amos Bronson Alcott

March 2018

Well February 3 didn’t turn out as hoped.  It was clear, but very cold.  Eden Keepers were given the option of working or not.  Most of us opted for “or not.” Only Tom Hartry and Karen Del Porto worked in the garden.  Bob Jontos worked on a churchyard project, and Stan Boyer came out but wasn’t feeling well so went home, as he should have.  Let’s give Stan an A for effort.  Of course, there was no lunch or committee meeting.  We will try again next month.

Our next work party will be on March 3 from 9 to noon, weather permitting.  It will be followed by our covered dish lunch at noon and then the committee meeting.

As always, newcomers as well as old-timers are welcome.  Bring gardening tools if you have them, gloves, water to drink while working, and a dish to share for lunch.  Let’s really, really, really ask the universe for nice weather, and if we get it, let’s all turn out to rejoice.  Since we will have missed two work parties, we will have a lot of work to do so we will need lots of Eden Keepers.

As the Bridge Run is April 7, we are moving the April churchyard work party a week earlier to Saturday, March 31.  The work party will be from 9 to 12, followed by a potluck lunch in Gage Hall.  Newcomers and old-timers are welcome.  Bring gardening tools if you have them, gloves, water to drink while working, and a dish to share for lunch.
